You receive a written health record that lists all vaccinations, deworming dates, and any treatments provided. This record is meant to be shared with your own veterinarian during the first appointment after adoption. Clear documentation helps your veterinarian continue care without guessing about previous treatments.
Written Health Guarantee
Doxie House Puppies provides a written health guarantee for every Dachshund puppy sold. The guarantee covers serious hereditary or congenital conditions that may affect the puppy’s quality of life within a specified period. Details such as covered conditions, timeframes, and remedies are clearly explained in the written agreement you receive before finalizing the sale.
Families are required to schedule an examination with a licensed veterinarian within a set number of days after bringing the puppy home. This initial exam confirms the puppy’s health status and allows your veterinarian to establish a baseline for future care. If the veterinarian identifies a significant health issue covered by the guarantee, you must notify us promptly with documentation.
If a Covered Health Issue Appears
In the rare event that a covered hereditary or congenital issue is diagnosed within the guarantee period, Doxie House Puppies will work with you to determine a fair resolution based on the terms of your agreement. Solutions may include replacement with a comparable puppy when available or another remedy described in the written guarantee.

Your Responsibility for Ongoing Health

Families agree to provide regular veterinary care, including wellness visits, vaccinations, and parasite prevention as recommended by their veterinarian. Quality nutrition suited to the puppy’s age and size should be provided daily.
Safe housing, protection from harsh weather, and a secure yard or supervised outdoor time are essential. Dachshunds have unique body structure and benefit from limited jumping and careful handling, especially during growth. Preventing obesity and supporting joint health helps protect their back and overall mobility as they age.
